Adding social value in the communities we work within
Adding social value in the communities we work within
Fitzpatrick Woolmer’s sustainability promise isn’t just about the planet, it’s about people. By embedding social value into our projects, we strengthen communities, protect local economies and create inclusive spaces where heritage can be enjoyed by everyone.
Every project we deliver leaves a footprint in the communities we serve, and we are committed to making it a positive one. By creating opportunities and designing inclusive visitor experiences, we ensure our work contributes to healthier, more resilient communities.
Our approach:
- Prioritising our local suppliers and craftspeople in the supply chain
- Providing apprenticeships, skills development and training opportunities at our manufacturing workshop
- Designing interpretation and signage that is inclusive and accessible to all
- Contributing to education through volunteering, community engagement and schools outreach

Our progress so far:
- Invested in apprenticeships and training pathways to build future skills in design and manufacturing
- Delivered projects with our local supply partners
- Supported community and heritage charities through pro bono design and fundraising activities
- Made accessibility a core design principle, ensuring visitors of all ages and abilities can engage with heritage spaces
