Account Development Executive

Rochester, Kent | £36,000 Basic + 1% Uncapped Commission

Do you enjoy understanding how things work?
Are you organised, curious and good with people?
Do you have an interest in design, heritage, visitor attractions, conservation or creative problem-solving?
If so, we’d love to hear from you.

About Fitzpatrick Woolmer
Fitzpatrick Woolmer is one of the UK’s leading specialists in visitor interpretation, wayfinding and signage.
For over 30 years we’ve helped organisations such as the National Trust, wildlife trusts, local authorities, estates, museums and visitor attractions welcome, inform and inspire their visitors.

We design, manufacture and install interpretation panels, wayfinding systems and visitor experience signage across the UK and are proud holders of a Royal Warrant.

The opportunity

This isn’t a traditional sales role.
You won’t be cold calling or chasing prospect lists.
Instead, you’ll be working with enquiries generated through our website, marketing activity, referrals and repeat customers.
Your role will be to understand what customers need, guide them towards the right products and services, prepare quotations and help convert opportunities into successful projects.
Initially, you’ll be based in our Rochester office, learning our products, services and customers. Over time, you’ll develop into a customer-facing account management role, building relationships and attending occasional meetings across the South East.
Full training will be provided.

You’ll develop an understanding of:

  • Interpretation and storytelling
  • Wayfinding and visitor navigation
  • Signage design
  • Graphic design, mapping and illustration
  • Materials, manufacturing and installation

About you

We’re more interested in your attitude and potential than whether you’ve worked in signage before.

You’ll probably be:

  • Curious and quick to learn
  • Organised and detail-oriented
  • A confident communicator
  • Comfortable working with technical information
  • Positive, supportive and team-focused
  • Interested in design, creativity and problem-solving

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

  • Graphic design
  • Creative services
  • Signage
  • Manufacturing
  • Heritage or visitor attractions
  • Technical sales
  • Account management
  • An interest in art, design, heritage, conservation or visitor experiences would be particularly valuable.

What you’ll be doing

  • Responding to customer enquiries
  • Preparing quotations and proposals
  • Following up opportunities
  • Managing activity through our CRM system
  • Building customer relationships
  • Working closely with our Studio and Production teams
  • Developing your own portfolio of accounts

What we offer

  • £36,000 basic salary
  • 1% uncapped commission on all sales achieved
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Hybrid working opportunities following training
  • Full product and industry training
  • Genuine career progression
  • Opportunity to work on interesting projects for prestigious organisations across the UK

Where could this lead?
Within your first year, you’ll be managing enquiries independently and building your own customer relationships.

Within three years, we expect the successful candidate to be managing a portfolio generating £650,000+ in annual sales revenue and representing Fitzpatrick Woolmer at customer meetings throughout the South East.

This role is designed for someone looking to build a long-term career, not simply find their next job.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

Closing date for applications – 30th August 2026.

Fitzpatrick Woolmer is an equal opportunities and Living Wage employer.
