Overview
MDCV owns and manages a portfolio of vineyards and estates dedicated to producing premium English wines. At its flagship Silverhand Estate in Kent, MDCV appointed Fitzpatrick Woolmer to produce a bespoke family of wayfinding and visitor signage that would complement the estate’s premium brand while making it easier for guests to find their way on arrival and explore the site with confidence.
The project brought together careful planning, premium materials and high-quality craftsmanship to create signage that feels at home within the landscape while reflecting the quality and attention to detail associated with Silverhand Estate.
The brief
We were tasked with creating a coordinated signage scheme that could guide visitors arriving by road and moving around the estate, while complementing the refined identity of a premium wine destination.
Working closely with MDCV, we carried out an on-site consultation to assess the proposed sign locations, orientations and sizes. This helped ensure every sign would achieve strong visibility for passing traffic while remaining clear and legible for visitors once on site.
The result was a considered approach that balanced the practical demands of wayfinding with the polished aesthetic expected of Silverhand Estate.

Our approach
The project centred on the manufacture of bespoke sign structures from Fitzpatrick Woolmer’s Grenadier™ range. Sustainably sourced green oak posts were combined with robust aluminium trays, corten-effect post caps and durable printed and cut vinyl graphics to create a signage family that was both distinctive and built to last.
Every element was carefully detailed to complement the Silverhand Estate brand and sit naturally within its surrounding landscape. Alongside entrance and directional signage, the scheme also incorporated visitor information and estate mapping, helping guests navigate the site confidently while discovering its facilities.
Close collaboration throughout the process ensured the signage worked as a cohesive system, with each element contributing to a consistent and recognisable visitor experience.
The result
The completed signage scheme provides Silverhand Estate with a clear, cohesive and beautifully crafted wayfinding system that enhances the visitor experience from arrival onwards.
By combining thoughtful planning, premium materials and expert manufacture, we created signage that reflects the heritage, quality and attention to detail associated with the estate. The project demonstrates how well-considered signage can do more than simply point the way – it can strengthen a premium brand, complement its surroundings and create a lasting impression for visitors.
