The brief
We love doing something a bit different to ensure finished solutions complement the landscape in which they’re set, whilst drawing on tried and tested production methods to maintain robustness and durability.
Through competitive tender we were awarded the contract to develop a scheme of interpretation panels that sat well in the heathland and woodland habitats of Chorleywood Common. Our design team presented options for static sign displays, taking inspiration from the wooded backdrop and recommending waney edge oak signs that made a pleasing first impression.
Our approach
Our artists created beautiful wildlife illustrations that captured the abundance of natural history found throughout the Common, supported by a detailed watercolour map to aid navigation.
Signs were manufactured from oak and featured a natural bark edge. Prohibitions icons were discretely routed to one face, offering advice to the public about sensible use of the Common without creating a negative impression.
Interpretive lecterns were an adaptation of our Woodsman™ lectern range and featured full colour n-viro™ prints. N-viro™ has a high print quality and excellent clarity of colour, well suited to the detailed illustrations and map artwork.
